The team behind rugzombie.io and oblivion.art prepare their Private Beta Release of ZOM, a trading card game based on their collection of unique RugZombie NFTs.

The Logo for the Debut Card Game

The RugZombie team announced on September 12th their intention for Private Beta to begin on October 20th, 2022.

“This is a monumental step forward in our community. We have been working on game design elements for nearly a year, and finally are ready to bring the game into a private beta mode for some more discerning feedback and to give beta users exclusive drops and early access to features,” said EZ, one of the project founders.

The RugZombie project aims to take the dead tokens and NFTs from a crypto-users wallet and convert them into playable game assets for ZOM.

EZ continued, “with our game, it is possible that users who have been rug pulled, scammed or simply made bad investment decisions with their wallets to have a bit of sympathy in our game. We felt that this game would be a silver lining on an otherwise dark side of the web3 industry (rug pulls) and even has the possibility to give users some renumeration from their losses on bad projects as a side effect of the game. We reason that as the game gets more play, some NFTs will become more valuable in the eyes of gamers. But that would be entirely up to the market.”

Private Beta Pass

The Team is preparing to release a Private Beta pass that will function in the game as a card-back and provide access to the Beta version. Mint numbers and prices have yet to be determined by the team.

Game Content

“We have been very hush about game mechanics and content. This is due to the nature of games, mechanics are not patentable, and we felt our unique design was exclusive enough to keep to ourselves. You won’t have seen anything like this on web3. We will begin releasing gameplay articles and videos in detail in the coming weeks.”

The RugZombie team is currently looking to forward lengthy private beta before moving into their public beta mode.

“Good games take time. Luckily, NFTs provide a way to grant early access to users and gamers to help provide clear feedback on the game that will help us prepare for our General Release in 2023.”
